Suicide Prevention Awareness Campaign
Organized by Social Service Cell, Government College, Sector-9, Gurugram
The Social Service Cell of Government College, Sector-9, Gurugram organized a Suicide Prevention Awareness Campaign on 18.09.2025 near the college premises with the objective of spreading awareness among the community about mental health issues and the importance of suicide prevention.
The campaign was conducted in the form of a street awareness drive and community interaction. Volunteers from the Social Service Cell gathered near the college and reached out to shopkeepers, passers-by, and local residents. Posters and banners with motivational slogans such as “Your Life Matters” and “Let’s Talk, Let’s Help” were displayed to engage the public. Ms. Monika Sehrawat, Ms. Satyam Bhamboo and Ms. Bhawana accompanying the volunteers addressed the gathering and emphasized that suicide is preventable if society becomes more empathetic and supportive. They urged people to break the stigma surrounding mental health and to encourage open conversations.
The initiative was highly successful in creating awareness beyond the college campus and strengthening the bond between the institution and the local community. It reflected the commitment of the Social Service Cell towards promoting mental health and saving lives.
